Yet, all of them
Leave scars.

In a time of winter cheer,
Eyes on the path ahead
To distract from those
No longer here.

She’s the wind.

The valiance of
Speaking up,
From the self,
Against the us —
Never back down
When your reasons
Feel right.

There's reasons aplenty
To not take a chance,
But in the end,
None of them count —
The path of least resistance
Is the coward’s way out.

Happiness at first sight —
Attracted by your radiance,
And blessed you felt
The same with mine.

Ain't art, like life,
Meant to be
Enjoyed before it fades?
What good is beauty
In a cage?

Passion, indifference,
In equal proportions —
My whole world,
Until I no longer want it.

Grounding intentions
Within established conventions,
Managing the cost-reward
Of social interaction.

Ledgers
Never add up
To what counts.

No matter
How deep
The agony,
Never let
The sour
Turn you
Bitter.

Don’t be afraid
To show yourself —
Your quirks amuse me.

I am a
Forty-something teen
Pushing fifty,
Still chasing the dream.

You may wonder
Why I'd care,
For either way
I won't be there.
It's the principle
Of honest emotion.

Even stagnant —
Life is motion.

Recognise the pain?
What for?
Blinders on —
Ignore, ignore.

I see birds
Watching me, braving the cold,
Exposed in leafless trees,
Perhaps wondering
Why I'm out —
As do I,
But I
Am going
Home.

Veiled,
Attention the addiction.
See us, hear us, validate us.
No one listens.
No one watches.
No one cares —
Not for others.

Henceforth,
You'll walk alone —
I can't follow,
Even though I know
Without a doubt
That you'll get lost.
It's not my path any longer.
