Shadowy and overgrown —
With angels in the treetops,

Where she reciprocates my love
With mood swings
Of unprovoked hostility,
And I just go along.

Negativity unchained —
Feel it taint and permeate.

Doubts and insecurities
Cloud the obvious reality —
Interest is what it takes.

Join the brawl —
Egos and elbows.
This spotlight's
Too small for us all.

Lies for sake of brevity —
Same,
Me too,
And likewise.

They say
If you can dream it,
You can do it,
But I dream of falling, momma.
I fall deeper every night.

Mantra of the near insane —
Like warmth,
Like pain,
The cold is there
Only if you
Allow yourself
To feel.

Equal measures,
Work, sleep, leisure —
One in three, fast asleep.
Life sliced up,
Staccato rhythms.
Reset, and start again.

Another link to grow the chain —
Another truth, bent out of shape
To fit the tale so far.

Shaped or grown —
Meet your maker.

Off the trail
Of mass distractions,
Find your shiver —
Shrug away
The proper.

Outlandish beliefs —
Take a stroll outside
Your comfort zone.

Open the floodgates
And hold on for dear life —
Beyond lie emotions
Suppressed and ignored.

Oceans set in full retreat —
Rivers coursing through the sand
Point the way to
Where the seagulls went.

Rediscovered rhetoric —
These horrors, so nostalgic,
We've seen it all before.

Rejoice, the nearer oceans,
For the water's edge
Creeps closer —
En route to full immersion
Never stop to wonder
What it means.
